Make: Lola
Name: T70 Mk1
Year: 1965
Description:

We are pleased to offer this rare, early Lola T70 Mk1 chassis SL70/6 for sale on behalf of its current, long-term owner.

To many, the Mk1 - being the first iteration of the famous Lola T70 line - is still the purest in design. With only 15 T70 Mk1's made and all of them being accounted for, these cars are sought after and front running in the pre-66 historic racing scene.

The history of SL70/6 is listed below in the history section. Most important is that its history is continuous from new, its chassis plate is genuine (rare!) and SL70/6 has no "stories" whatsoever.

The car is offered for sale in excellent condition and it has always been maintained by Martin Stretton Racing Ltd. with no-expense-spared for the current owner. As the car has not run for a few years now, it will need going through, crack testing and installation of a new fuel cell , fire extinguisher and belts upon which it is ready to roar again !

The engine is a strong 5.7 litre Tim Adams SMB Chevy with only about 10 hours running and the Hewland LG-500 gearbox is in excellent condition. SL70/6 also benefits from an accusump anti-oil surge system and comes with a set of spare wheels and a current 2016 FIA HTP.

This ex-Mecom Lola T70 Mk1 is eligible for all pre-66 sportscar racing including Masters, CER, the Goodwood Members Meeting as well as the Goodwood Revival.

Make: Ford
Name: Capri RS2600
Year: 1971
Description:

We are very pleased to offer this stunning 1971 “RIPOLIN” Capri RS2600 for sale.

Ford’s motorsport program for the Capri was centered in Cologne, Germany and headed by Jochen Neerpasch who recognized early in its development that the Capri’s success would be achieved on the race track rather than on rallies.

This success was achieved by the RS2600 which – under Group 2 rules – was equipped with a 2900cc Weslake V6 dry-sump engine on Kugelfischer injection delivering more than 320bhp, a ZF 5-speed gearbox, uprated brakes and suspension and lightened bodywork (through fibreglass panels) resulting in an overall homologated weight of 900kg. Given this specification, it was no surprise that Ford Cologne won the 1971 and 1972 European Touring car championship with drivers such as Dieter Glemser and Jochen Mass.

The car which we have on offer was build to FIA Group 2 specification in 2014/5 by renown UK specialist Ric Wood using a Capri 1300 donor car. Ric built the car for French preparer Yvan Mahé of Equipe Europe who decided that it should be finished in its splendid French “RIPOLIN” paint company livery as raced by Gerard Larousse in the 1972 Tour de France. When finished, a rollout was done in June of 2015 after which Mahé sold it to the current owner who has raced this iconic RIPOLIN Capri in the 2016 and 2017 Peter Auto HTC championship with outstanding results : a 2nd place in 2016 and the championship win in 2017 !

This well sorted RS2600 has always been maintained with no expenses spared. The engine has 15 hours running (out of 30 hours before rebuild is needed) since a June 2016 rebuild. The wiring has been renewed as has the clutch. Seats, fire extinguisher system and belts are all current up to at least 2019. The car has received a thorough go-through and is sold in excellent, race-ready condition with a 2015 FIA HTP (valid till 2025) and an extensive spares package which includes 2 spare wheel sets,  2 drive shafts, 4 new brake discs, bearings and miscellaneous running spares.

Benefitting from a UK road registration, this stunning RIPOLIN Capri is ready to offer its new owner lots of front-running excitement both on the race track as well as in rallies around the world.

Make: Chevron
Name: B8
Year: 1968
Description:

Chevron cars had burst onto the GT racing scene in 1966 with a dream debut for its B3, the very first GT car produced by the talented Derek Bennett, winning at Oulton Park in its maiden race. To racing driver John Lepp, observer at the Chevron's first track test at the same venue, this came as no surprise having already seen the GT put in a lap no less than six seconds under the GT record.

Its closely resembling successor, the Chevron B8 - more often than not powered by BMW's two liter, overhead camshaft, four cylinder engine - went onto dominate national GT racing and enjoy much success in Europe from 1968 onwards. The B8 used a space frame chassis with all independent wishbone/coil spring suspension, while its svelte and curvaceous fiberglass bodywork made it one of the prettiest GT/sports racers of its era. With its mid-mounted engine mated to a Hewland transaxle, it was duly homologated for the international Group 4 class, and it too proved highly successful: the car made its race debut at Cadwell Park on March 3rd 1968 and just over three weeks later, an example, driven by John Silverstone, took an outright win in the GT race at Silverstone; John Lepp then went on to take overall honours in the 1969 RAC Sports Car Championship.

By the time production ceased in 1970, Chevron had only built 44 B8 models of which 34 with the BMW 2.0 litre engine and 5 with the Ford 1600cc FVA engine. Whichever power unit was fitted, the B8 remained a superbly effective racing car and highly competitive in international racing, thanks to its combination of superb agility and outright speed. The situation is no different today in historic racing where the Chevron B8 and Bolton's best is a regular podium finisher in sports and GT car events.

We are proud to offer an ex-John Lepp Chevron B8 chassis CHDBE-51 for sale; one of only 5 cars build with an FVA engine which is also the power unit in the car today. Chassis #51 has well documented, continuous ownership from new (see the History section below) and benefits from excellent in-period international race history including two participations at the Nurburgring 1000km in 1968 and 1969.

CHDBE-51 currently resides in the U.S.A. and has been in its current ownership since 2005. It has always been maintained with no expenses spared and is in gorgeous condition which includes its fresh, zero miles FVA engine. It is sold in 100% race-ready condition and comes with extensive spares including wheels, bodywork, etc.. Chassis #51 has a USA issued (ACCUS) FIA HTP which needs renewal.

This pedigree and immaculate Chevron B8 is eligible for all historic race events around the world including Le Mans Classic, Daytona 24hr classic, Masters WSM, Peter Auto CER, etc. where it will be a competitive and welcomed entry.
